Check out "Writing in Community," an an academic course for students who are passionate about writing and community service and would like to explore the dynamic relationship between these two pursuits. As a team, you will head off campus each week to mentor under-served high school students in essay writing. Back on campus, you will have weekly meetings to help you enhance your writing and mentoring skills as we develop your own ideas into essays. You are invited to join us for a screening of Kiki on Monday, November 27 at 5:00pm in the Kimmel 210 Conference Room followed by a service event at Housing Works on Saturday, December 2. Come join us in watching the award winning documentary, Kiki, and enjoy some free food! Kiki tells a story of LGBTQ youth-of-color who unite in New York City to form a safe gathering space. Following the screening, students will have the opportunity to participate in a unique "Holiday at Housing Works" event on Saturday, December 2nd. This event allows this organization to generate more revenue for their programs and services for the LGBTQ community.
