Diagnostic Radiography (DR) uses the science of radiation to produce images of tissues and organs. These images may be recorded on film or as digital images. Medical professionals like doctors use these medical images, commonly called ‘X-rays’, to diagnose and treat medical conditions. Radiography offers a challenging but rewarding career within the healthcare service. It embraces a wide range of sophisticated imaging equipment and advanced technology available in modern medical practice. This includes CT scanning, ultrasound, radioactive isotope imaging, and MRI.
