Book Week Parade
Book Week culminated in a fantastic costume parade. The children enjoyed dressing up as their favourite book character, and had the opportunity to showcase this to the rest of the school. The week's activities, including the character parade and visiting show, were a great way to celebrate books and encourage a joy of reading amongst our students.

BECOME A CPA: CAREER ADVICE FROM A SUCCESSFUL ACCOUNTANT
Glenn Bain CPA's curiosity introduced him to accounting. It's what his learnt since then that has seen the 31-year-old leading a team of 15 at one of Australia’s largest government departments.
A quote I came across: "There is no escaping practicing and mastering the forms. We have traditions to uphold and it is our responsibility to study well. We cannot just jump to free style training. We must practice low postures and kamae to strengthen our bodies and in preparation for heavy weapons and clothing/armour etc. But, the training must then be able to adapt to this day and age. If we cannot adapt, then we and the Art will not survive."
Let there be light (even in the daytime)!! Our electrics are safe for years to come thanks to four new electrical chassis funded generously by Waitemata Local Board (they also funded LED lights and timers in two studios and replaced lights in our ladies dressing room)!
Wedding gown created by our very own Principal Sunita Ovely. Individual beading creates a beautiful sleeve with a chevron pattern. The seams are all carefully concealed with beading and motif hand sewn placements. This gown is a work of art, lucky Theresa on her wedding day

More images from the police visit today to help farewell Chris Metcalfe from his 30 year career at MAGS. Son Jayden is a policeman who helped organise the visit by a police dog team and the Eagle helicopter, which took Chris for a flight over the school and city as he was farewelled with a haka by the boys of School House.
🎄✨🎄✨🎄So it is pretty exciting that our Christmas Party is this Saturday (2 December)! It starts at 9.30am and goes to midday. JP the clown will be there with his balloon show from 10am to 11am sharp. 🎈🎈There will be amazing nut-free catering courtesy of Kristin Burns (taste tests were delicious), strawberries 🍓🍓🍓 from Mangere Strawberry Farm and 🍰🍰 from Blue Rose cafe. We will have a box at the sign in table for unwrapped donations for the Salvation Army. 💙

It was a busy weekend for TAP grads at the NZ Web Fest Awards. Timmie Cameron & Anna Baird feature in 'The Sisterhood' which took out Best Pilot, and Holly Shervey won Best Actress for 'Auckward Love'. Congrats ladies...talk about a triple threat.
Hey folks. Tomorrow we will have a film crew at the club filming some stuff for some promotional material. It would be good to get a full mat so we can capture a snippet of what an essentials class looks like. So please come on down for 10.30 with your gi in hand. Those of you who are on witness protection may want to stay away.
