Guam JFK High School Statue Restoration Project JFK High School Alumni are planing to commission another life-sized statue of the late President John F. Kennedy to replace the one that was vandalised. JFK High School Alumni President Peter Alecxis Ada says he is calling all JFK graduates and local businesses to help restore a missing landmark at the newly built upper Tumon campus. He says the original statue was vandalized beyond repair and could not be placed on the new campus grounds. He also says several JFK alumni groups are interested in re-erecting a statue in front of the school in time for the 50th anniversary of JFK s death. He s asking all students from the former Tumon Junior Senior High to join him in this endeavor. “Hopefully, we ll be able to get the statue in place and have it unveiled on Saturday, the 23rd of November of this year, which will mark the 50th anniversary of Kennedy’s assassination.” Ada adds they also plan to incorporate a replica of the Ladera in back of the statue to represent the original students of the school between 1960 to 1965.
